About Gabor
Gabor Dudas knows what it means to start over. In Hungary, he built a wholesale bakery from scratch that became the biggest of its time, with 30 staff producing around the clock. At 40 he sold it, wanting more from life, and moved his family to the Dominican Republic without speaking Spanish. Two years later they moved again, to Canada, where he started working in Jasper without speaking English. The family didn't just survive, they thrived. In Red Deer they opened an award-winning café that became one of the most popular in town. Today Gabor and his family have settled on Vancouver Island, and it's time to give back.
He has a Bachelor of Psychology from Vancouver Island University, with a minor in Indigenous Studies. He also has years of front-line experience in BC social services, so he knows first-hand how MCFD and the family support system work. He can help dads understand the process, know their options and feel less alone in it. He started It's Not Magic, It's Community because real change happens when men stop going it alone.
